About the Artist
I was born and raised in the Canadian Prairies, growing up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
I studied Interior Design at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond, British Columbia for three years before completing my BFA in Painting At NSCAD in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2021.
I am an Expressionist artist working in drawing, fibre arts, and oil and acrylic painting.
My practice is based around my lived experiences and the dynamics of relationships to both people and space. Common themes in my work include mental health, sexuality, identity, gender roles, and capturing moments of mundanity.
I use art as a means to distort and reexamine my lived experiences and further my understanding of what it means to live and function in society. Through distortion I explore normalcy while providing a critique of beauty for beauty's sake and embracing the tender softness in the ordinary ugliness of life.
